Balin is a clinical social worker in private psychotherapy practice in Denver. A graduate of the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy in New York City, Balin also has advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for trauma.

Balin is an adjunct professor at the Graduate School of Social Work at the University of Denver and an instructor at the Denver Institute for Psychoanalysis. She offers pre- and post-licensure clinical supervision to social workers and psychotherapists.

Balin is licensed in Colorado and New York. She earned her Bachelor's degree from Colorado College and her Master's degree from the George Warren Brown School of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis.

Prior to private practice, Balin specialized in sexual and reproductive health and provided services to survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. In tandem with her professional training and education, Balin’s life experiences shape her therapeutic approach.
